And I said this, and posted comments to about half before I realized I liked everyone. So if some one friended me I said this about me:

I'm late but after reading through the intros there is no one here I wouldn't like to know more about.

I'm Christine, 42, live um awkwardly with my Mother, and my boyfriend of nearly 10 years, dividing my time between their homes. Boyfriend and I hit a rough patch last year, and I moved out, we have been working on things and they are slowly getting better. We co-parent our adorable dog Mabel and his adult daughter.

I've recently left the property management business and am working on getting my Real Estate license in Kansas, where I live.

I've performed at Renaissance Festivals for over 18 years in various roles, most often as a Shakespeare Spoofing Swordfighting Shrew.

I love to read everything from Austen and Dickens to Rowling and Butcher. Not a horror fan but hey, different strokes. I also love Star Treck, Star- stuff fantasy, loves are Star Gate, and Firefly.

I am also about tolerance and acceptance, not afraid to hear and learn about other lifestyles, would welcome trying out any new friendships. Learned about this from if you like her, I'll like you just for that.

Had some new friend hits already, I'll go back a page of yours, if you go back a page of mine I think we'll have an idea and there we go. I comment more than post, but I need to blog now for my new career, would love input!

Welcome to my crazy, the back story could be good reads!

A Faire Evening

Missing faire friends? The music? The hats? This Saturday you can have all that, INDOORS with NO MUD! And Beer! YES BEER. Plus it's for a really good cause. Come on out!

Rogues Roast and benefit for Patrick Patterson
Saturday, November 12 at 7:00pm - November 13 at 12:00am
VFW Club
9550 Pflumm rd.
Lenexa, KS

A Roast for our Rogues Gallery is being held on November 12, 2011. This roast will also be a benefit for Patrick and Carol Patterson. Patrick has shown us nothing but love and friendship for many years, and now it is our turn to give that love back.

The "Roast" will be from 7:00 till around 7:45. After this it will be nothing but a tribute to Pat with people that have known and shared his devotion for many years.

Here is the evening’s entertainment.

MC for the evening - Vicki Kerns

Capt'n Blacks Sea Dogs
The Sea Rats
Bruce the Bruce Cannon
Susi Mathews
Wayne (Seymore) Owens
The Fallen Angels Privateers
The Shanty Ladies
The Musical Blades
The Jolly Rogers
Lydia Ash
The Lord Mayor's Company (Christine’s group) EDIT: This was in there because I copied a flyer I made for the legion for this post, just wanted them to have a clue why it was there.)
The Beerside Scoundrels

In addition to the entertainment there will be a silent auction as well as a "free will" donation bowl.

This is not a full garb event, but the Rogues are asked to wear hats.

We are going to have to charge a small admission to the roast, which will be $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple. This is required because of the cost to rent the VFW. Our original plans to obtain a hall free of charge, or at reduced rates fell thru requiring the recovery of the rental fee.

Put this date on your calendar right now and plan on joining us for a not only a tribute to our beloved Rogues, but to help our buddy Pat.

There will be wenches Edit: AND A BELLYDANCER there collecting "Tips" for Pat in the tradtional way, bring ONES!

For those of you in the KC area. Last year they had quality stuff with sports team logos for those of you that know people that like that stuff and it's for a good cause.

LOVE LOVE oh la la

I am IN LOVE with this, I'm singing Lady Gaga as Ophelia this season and this is inspiring.

Linger Trailer!

Can't wait for this book!

Awesome Author

Linger Cover LargeIn Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other.  Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack.  And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.

At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love -- the light and the dark, the warm and the cold -- in a way you will never forget.

Comes out in stores everywhere July 20th. Pre-order here.

Well I'll be honest. I just wasn't sure, I mean, it Seemed like a good idea. Man was it!

lightonthesill offered to throw me a "birthday party" at the Just off Broadway as a way to offer a fun, warm and safe audience for her Beginning Burlesque class. I said "sure I'm in". Thinking "I would so not want anyone one to see me knit after one lesson."

Well these women just blew me away. 7 at least, forgive me if I lost count, did original solo numbers that they put together in less than a week and they were all great!
I mean, they had presence, confidence, choreography and personality. I whooed myself hoarse (thank god for scotch)

Not to lessen all of the amazing numbers, but seriously rougewench's performance was professional quality. I'm not sucking up, I already have the job. Just fantastic.

The friends that showed did not fail me, a great audience even though we took long breaks, it really was a party atmosphere. I'm so blessed to have this kind of fun come tap me on the shoulder. Thank you all of you.

And to the performers of last night, I admire you all, bravery, talent and class! You made it look so fun! I KNOW it wasn't that easy! Congratulations, on a wonderful debut.

The belated list trim

After this post, which will be public I will trim my friends list. As I have said, please do not feel if I have taken you off my LJ I don't wish to know you or be your friend. This journal is for me and I would like to use it for different things at this time. I can be found as Christine Svoboda Wade on face book or on My Space myspace.com/nottykate.

Thanks for reading.

Yours ever,

A Friend posted recently:

But the point is that your journal is your responsibility. I've had more than one person say to me, "I don't care who reads this," but, as the recent spate of PSAs on TV point out, if you don't pay attention to who is reading your stuff, it's the same as standing in the town square reading your diary out loud to everyone. At some point, someone is going to pick up something of 'interest' and the odds are pretty good that they will find (or be) someone who has a reason to use that information against you.

LJ, like nearly all blog and community sites, is a giant searchable database of information - the key word being, of course, searchable. However LJ has a couple of features that make it more difficult for people to dig out dirt; the easiest one to implement is to friends-lock your posts. If you choose to make any postings public, then the public will be able to read them, as well as search for them using Google, Yahoo, or LiveSearch.

Just to check, try typing in your LJ name in a Google search bar, and see how many posts and comments show up in the list. (Because if your friends have public posts, then your comments on those posts are also searchable.)

Even if you don't care about individuals, you may (and should) care a lot about potential employers, clients, students, etc. ( as I am job hunting this is important to me)
All of this is a prelude to my announcement that I'm about to cull my list. In most cases, I would be unfriending someone because I am no longer interested in reading what they are posting, or because they have not posted in a very long time. In one or two cases, I have concerns about whether they understand the sanctity of a friends-locked post. Or I'm not sure who you are in the real world as to LJ. Please comment if you wish and let me know. I will be shortening the list seriously. In any such case, I am taking action because I see it as necessary to my continued 'survival' on the World Wide Web.

My journal - my decision. Feel free to respond as you wish - this post is locked and comments are screened. Odds are, if you can read this post, you already understand most of the above (even if you do not necessarily agree with all of it).

This was my friends post and I am taking it to heart. I read down my f-list a lot and think, "who is this" if you want me to know, tell me. Comments screened. Notty out.
